The impact you will make, as a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go-to problem solver who ensures our equipment, systems, and facilities are always in top shape. From preventing costly downtime to improving operational efficiency, your work will have a direct and visible impact on our ability to serve our residents.
Maintenance & Facilities Operations
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on facility equipment and vehicles, including inspections and required part replacements, following established maintenance procedures and checklists.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions
- Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.
- Clean and lubricate parts of machinery.
- Operates Sisters of Charity motor vehicles and/or mobile equipment as required to perform job duties and complies with all organizational licensing, training, testing, safety, and Motor Vehicle policy requirements.
- Uses electronic work order system to receive, document, and complete assigned work requests.
Policy Procedure & Compliance
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information (HIPAA) and respect and adhere to all resident rights.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- On-call weekends, holidays, when scheduled or other shifts as needed.
- Perform fire watches as needed
- Complete all assigned documents and mandatory training by specified deadlines.
- Maintain current professional credentials and certifications.
- Remain current on applicable regulations and procedures by professional publications and attending applicable seminars.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a healthcare and residential campus setting that may require exposure to varying temperatures, cleaning agents, and occasional noise.
