Description: The Blue Ash Fire Department is looking to fill a part-time Fire Safety Inspector. This position is responsible for completing annual compliance inspections including required documentation and follow-up of failed inspections. This position reports to the Fire Marshal and Fire Chief.
This is a part-time permanent position working approximately 12-16 hours per week.

Examples of Duties: Along with completing annual compliance inspections including required documentation and follow-up of failed inspections, the inspector shall be capable of organizing and managing inspections for occupancies assigned at the start of each monthly period. In addition to being familiar with the Ohio Fire Code, the inspector will need to become knowledgeable of the specific fire code rules within the Codified Ordinance of Blue Ash. Additionally, the role will require reviewing, scanning, and entering testing documents into our database and will maintain proper written and oral communications with inspection contacts.
Typical Qualifications: Applicants shall possess and be able to maintain an Ohio Fire Safety Inspector certification. Experienced inspectors assigned to conduct annual fire safety inspections of commercial and multi-family properties is preferred. Demonstration of knowledge of how to use and apply the Ohio Fire Code is expected at the time of interview.
