Downing Displays is seeking a CNC Router Operator to join our team in our Milford, OH location.  The CNC Router Operator is responsible for preparing and operating the CNC router equipment to produce high quality parts for trade show exhibits and displays.  This role takes VCarve files and generates the proper tool paths for a Rotech 5' x 10' CNC router table while supporintg the fabrication team with general shop and exhibit assembly work.  

Responsbilities of the CNC Router Operator

  • Receive VCarve files and prepare them for CNC cutting.
  • Generate and very tool paths for a Rotech 5' x 10' CNC router table.
  • Load materials, set up jobs and safely operate CNC routing equipment.
  • Review files and cut plans for accuracy prior to machine operation.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe CNC work area.
  • Communicate with the fabrication team regarding materials, parts and production schedules.
  • Assist with general fabrication and shop duties as needed.
  • Support the assembly of trade show exhibits and displays.
  • Handle materials, hardware and finished components safely and effeciently.
  • Contribute to keeping projects on schedule and production moving smoothly.

Qualification and Skills for the CNC Router Operator

  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and prduction files.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to measure and inspect parts accurately.
  • Ability to work safely around machinery, tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Experience working with wood, plastics, metals and composite materials commonly used in exhibits and displays.
  • Skilled in operating CNC equipment, power tools, saws, routers and fabrication machinery.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Experience with Syntec controllers prefered.
  • Must be able to safely lift and handle full sheet of 3/4" playwood independently.
  • Ability to stand, bend and work in a fabrication shop environment for extended periods of time.
