Job Summary
The Sanitation Operator is directly responsible for the cleanliness of an assigned area within the plant.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform all assigned activities and job tasks within a line or area
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Work in conjunction with the quality team
Participates in Food Safety inspections and reports
Must be forklift certified or have the ability to qualify
Maintain a clean, safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
Preferred qualifications include:
3+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
2 years of work experience within manufacturing
Working knowledge of food safety practices
Computer Experience
Knowledge of inventory control principles

Knowledge of and compliance with Safety, GMP’s, and environmental procedures and regulations

Ability to be flexible regarding work schedules and shift rotations (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
Ability to work in a standard manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an environment that has a wide range of temperature, variation, and humidity
Lift varied capacities over the following time periods
Lift and carry 65 pounds repeatedly in an 8 or 12 hour period
Push and pull 50 pounds repeatedly in an 8 or 12 hour period. Objects being lifted weigh up to 50 pounds include bags of raw materials and performing changeovers on equipment. Consequences of not being able to lift these bags include not being able to run the needed products / diets. This could result in a significant risk to our customers and brand
Climb ladders and stairs
Work on overhead equipment
Walk unlimited distances every work day.
Push or pull 800 pound totes on wheels across a cement surface 8 to 24 times for 8 hours
Work with hands overhead occasionally
Bend at waist 90 degrees and flex at knees 120 degrees 100+ times for 8 hours.
Wear dust masks and hearing protection
Perceive visual and audible alarms and telephones while wearing hearing protection
Receive and transmit radio communication
Perform tasks with vision corrected to a minimum of 20/40 with full peripheral vision for forklift driving
Ability to perform tasks in an environment that contains significant levels of dust
