Assistant Carpenter

Description

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Carpenter with fewer than five years of hands-on construction experience to support our Lead Carpenter. In this role, you will assist with a wide range of restoration and remodeling projects, contributing to high-quality, detail-driven results from start to finish. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • ·        Assist in a variety of hands-on carpentry tasks, including framing, drywall installation & finishing, painting, trim work, and cabinetry for restoration and remodeling projects of all sizes.
  • ·        Review and follow scopes of work and project plans to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • ·        Install, repair, and adjust building components to meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • ·        Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized job site in accordance with all safety guidelines.
  • ·        Collaborate closely with the Lead Carpenter and team members to monitor and manage project materials.
  • ·        Proactively identify and help resolve on-site challenges to keep projects on schedule.
  • ·        Support additional project needs and responsibilities as assigned throughout all phases of construction.

Skills/Requirements

Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, work at heights and carry items of at least 50 + pounds unassisted • An oral interview, drug test, and background investigation must be passed by successful candidate. • Punctual and regular attendance required. • Valid State driver’s license maintained throughout course of employment with the city Ability to learn new skills. Ability to work as part of a team

Additional Skills/Requirements: • Less than 5 years of experience in residential drywall, painting & carpentry, with a focus on remodeling and restoration.
• Ability to read and interpret scopes and construction documents accurately.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and job site safety practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with clients, team members, and supervisors.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship on every project.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• The ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects.
