Join our Growing Family! Metzcor is seeking a caring, compassionate, and energetic individual to join our team as a State Tested Nursing Assistant. As an STNA, you will play a crucial role in the lives of the participants who attend our programs. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact each and every day.
STNA Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist participants in using the restroom and/or change them as applicable
- Assist participants with hand washing and other personal hygiene care as needed
- Assist participants with eating at meal and/or snack times
- Assist in administering gastrostomy tube feedings
- Must be able to accurately measure participant's vital signs, i.e., temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, etc
- Assist in moving non-ambulatory participants as needed
- Demonstrate high standards of personal integrity and respect; while interacting with participants, their families, co-workers, and the general public
- Assist with clerical duties such as scanning files, maintaining charts, etc.
- Perform all the duties and functions of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) as needed to meet daily staffing needs
- Report any and all participant issues, complaints, or signs of neglect or abuse directly to the Registered Nurse
- All other tasks as deemed necessary by management
Skills:
- Proficient use of technology: Ability to use different software applications for documentation and communication on a daily basis.
- Experience working with diverse populations: Ability to adapt to the needs of participants from various backgrounds and abilities
- Effective communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and managers.
- Comfortable driving and maneuvering a commercial transit van.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a State Tested Nursing Assistant license active in the state of Ohio
- Maintain a driver’s license in good standing with less than 5 points
- Pass a drug screening
- Pass a criminal background check and exclusion list of checks required by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
