Second Mile Home Care has a comprehensive onboarding program that delivers in-depth and hands-on instruction overseen by nurse practitioners. We provide our caregivers with all the tools they need to be skilled, prepared, and confident to care for seniors.

Second Mile Home Care is a non-medical senior care organization specializing in companionship and personal care for seniors and special needs patients residing in their private residences or in a facility.

We are looking for CARING and COMPASSIONATE individuals with or without experience in this field to become a part of our family and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.

Duties include, but are not limited to

• Companionship
• Light housekeeping
• Meal Preparation
• Medication reminders
• Errands
• Assistance to & from appointments
• Activities of Daily Living such as dressing, grooming, feeding, incontinence care, and transferring
• Specialized care such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

Requirements to be a caregiver:

• Ability to treat and care for seniors and special needs clients with dignity and respect
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
• Reliable transportation to travel between client homes, with a valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Must pass fingerprinting with BCI and FBI check, drug screen, and DMV check
• Evidence of a negative TB test within the last 12 months (or willingness to be tested)
• CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to acquire)
• A sense of humor and desire to make a difference in the lives of the elderly and those in need of extra assistance
• Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
