Your Path to Mastery:
Learn the Basics: You will start by learning to operate CNC and manual equipment, including lathes and mills.
Master Measurement: You will be trained on how to use precision instruments like micrometers and calipers to ensure every part is perfect.
Gain Specialized Experience: You will have the unique opportunity to learn on specialized equipment such as Horizontal Boring Mills (HBMs) and Vertical Turret Lathes (VTLs)—skills that are highly valued in the industry.
Blueprint Reading: We will teach you how to translate engineering drawings into finished metal parts.
Responsibilities:
Blueprint Review: Review job routers and complex drawings to determine optimal machining sequences.
Setups: With assistance and increasing independence, perform operation setups, including tool selection, workholding, and offset adjustments.
Process Optimization: Operate machinery efficiently, setting cuts and programming at the machine to optimize cycle times and precision.
Inspection: Learn how to perform first-article and in-process inspections using precision equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
Shop Stewardship: Operate in a manner that preserves a safe environment for everyone in the shop. Maintain equipment in top order and contribute to a safe, organized workspace.
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a vocational program or some machining coursework is a major plus.
Mechanical Aptitude: You enjoy working with your hands, fixing things, and understanding how machines work.
Reliability: You take pride in being on time and ready to learn.
Physical: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work an 8-hour shift.
