Job Overview:
We're seeking a skilled Appliance Repair Technician to handle on-site diagnostics and repairs for residential appliances. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth, hands-on training, and competitive pay. You'll work independently and as part of a team, traveling to customer homes in company-provided vehicles. If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting complex problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of household appliances, including refrigerators, washers/dryers, ovens/ranges, cooktops, and dishwashers, using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks to identify potential issues and extend appliance lifespan.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, offering advice on appliance care, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies in your vehicle; order and track necessary components to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, parts used, and labor via our digital system (training provided).
- Ensure a safe work environment by following safety protocols, using protective gear, and adhering to industry standards (e.g., handling refrigerants safely).
- Collaborate with team members and dispatch to prioritize jobs, multitask during peak times, and assist with training junior techs as needed.
- Other duties as assigned, such as supporting warranty claims or emergency after-hours calls (with additional compensation).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (1+ years preferred) in appliance repair, HVAC, electrical work, or a related mechanical field—hands-on knowledge of diagnosing and fixing common appliance issues is essential.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment specific to appliance repair (e.g., multimeters, leak detectors, and basic hand tools).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a first-principles approach: ability to break down failures to root causes (e.g., electrical faults, mechanical wear, or refrigerant leaks) and apply logical fixes.
- Physical ability to handle demanding workloads, including lifting up to 100lbs, working in tight spaces, and being on your feet for extended periods.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills—must work well with customers, colleagues, and under minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask during busy seasons, and manage time effectively to meet daily service goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., EPA 608 for refrigerants, NASTeC certification) are a plus but not required—we offer training support.
- Basic computer skills for logging jobs and using mobile apps.
- Ability to learn quickly, retain information, and adhere to company protocols.
- Ability to supply non-specialty tools.
What We Offer:
- Competitive commission (based on experience) plus performance bonuses and commission opportunities.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement contributions.
- Company-provided , uniforms, and vehicle with gas/maintenance covered.
- Ongoing training and certification reimbursement to advance your skills.
- A supportive team environment with regular team meetings and opportunities for advancement.
- Company paid training.
