Triage
• Provide general nursing care, counseling, and teaching to patients
• Document telephone triage, patient education, and patient instruction accurately
• Triage test results for provider review and/ or appropriate follow-up; contact patients with results/follow-ups
• Send prescriptions and refills to pharmacies as directed by the physician
• Provide patient education and instruction
• Clinic-wide inbox screening
Clinical
• Administer prescribed medications and ensure proper documentation in the medical record
• Run a provider’s schedule and float as needed
• Efficiently and in a timely manner prepare patients for their provider visit
• Assist provider on procedures and exams as needed
• Be proficient with the clinic’s electronic medical records system
Training
• Implement clinical training and sign off on necessary skills as directed by lead nurse or provider
• Precept medical staff on the floor
• Help to implement re-training of medical staff when needed
• Continue to pursue professional development and more advanced clinical training
Quality Improvement
• Collaborate with physician and other QI team members on QI including but not limited to: complex care, newborn reports, ER reports, depression, anxiety, headaches, constipation
• Lead and COVID test reporting
• Referral and lab tracking
