The Lathe Operator sets up, operates, and adjusts lathes to machine parts to precise specifications. This role works closely with supervisors and team members to maintain quality, meet production schedules, troubleshoot basic machining issues, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and part quality.
• Set up, operate, and adjust manual, conversational, and/or CNC lathes.
• Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds to meet part specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
• Troubleshoot basic machining issues and make appropriate adjustments.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and document completed work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet schedules and improve machining efficiency and quality.

Additional Skills/Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as a lathe operator or in a machining role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Experience setting up, adjusting, and safely operating lathes.
• Knowledge of precision measurement tools and quality inspection practices.
• Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to manage time effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
• Experience with milling or related machining processes is beneficial.
